ST MARY’S SECONDARY SCHOOL BEITBRIDGE OFFICIALLY OPENED
The 22nd of September 2013 in the year of mercy saw the official opening of St Mary’s secondary school; which was established in 2010. The official opening ceremony was graced and blessed by the presence of the guest of honour his Lordship the Right Reverend Bishop Sekuru Michael Dickson Bhasera which led to the unveiling ceremony, blessing and officially opening of the school.
The event also witnessed the presence of the Vicar General Rev Fr Walter Nyatsandza and the Masvingo Diocese education secretary Rev Fr Raphael Zindova along with several catholic priests from the Diocese. Other important delegates included representatives of the provincial education department [P.E.D] mat south and the head of school from Masvingo Diocese together with other heads of schools and departments from Beitbridge district. The homily for the day was given by Fr P Mudanganyi who stressed on the concept of decentralization of leadership and encouraged unity and togetherness in the work place.
The ceremony was indeed the work of perfection with various proceedings in the agenda moving immaculately and flawless. The Head of the school Mr Augustine Zhou commented on the history of the school and applauded the school for its achievements and finally emphasized on the school mission statement which is to provide character formation, academics, tech vocational, skills and teach children to faster personal relationship with The Beitbridge community expressed its sincere gratitude in the Roman Catholic Church for helping empower the children of the district with the most vital tool Education.
